Just give me the word and I shall bring the moon from the sky,
Just give me the word and I shall slay a dragon for you,
Just give me the word and I shall make you smile,
Just give me the word and I shall make this day worthwhile.
Why don't you give me a word?
Even though I am willing.
Why don't you give me a command?
Even though you know I am willing.
Driving on the fast lane, through the hill side,
to the cottage where we reside, eat food and drink wine.
I'm asking my friends about you,
driving, driving and asking for you.
Where have you gone, where have you gone today?
Is our relationship on the highway,
Or is it already gone?
Where have you lead this relationship?
'Cos I can't find it anymore.
Where have you lead this relationship?
'Cos I can't find it anymore.
Now I'm just driving on the fast lane,
through the hillside,
through the hillside, and over the mountain tops.
Just give me the word,
Just give me the word and I shall obey,
Just give me the word,
Just give me the word and I shall make the world turn around.
Oooh, ooh ooh.
ooh, ouh.
Oooh, ooh ooh.
ooh, ouh.
Just give me the word and we'll be on our way.
Just give me the word and we will smile,
Just give me the word and everything will be okay.
Driving on the fast lane, with the stereo up high,
Driving on the fast lane,
through the hillside,
through the hillside, and over the mountain tops.
Till this day ends.
Driving (fading sound)
Driving on the fast lane,
Driving,
Driving on the fast lane,
Driving on the fast lane (volume rising)
Through the hillside,
through the hillside, and over the mountain tooops.
Driving (fading)
Driving through the hillside (x4)
Driving!

I felt that this was very good. It does feel a little repetive but most lyrics do. It does seem as if you have two choruses: "just give me the word" and "driving" You might want to pick one to stand out more because the song's message seems to change from the beginning to the end of the song. These things are easily changeable so overall I felt of was well written!
Hey,
There were parts that I liked, but I found the whole thing pretty repetitive.
For example, when you wrote:
I like the imagery in the first part - the two of you in a cottage, and then you asking your friends about her. I'd kind of elaborate on that - stretch it out to a verse about the cottage and a second one about asking your friends.
However, a lot of the rest of the song starts with "Just give me the word..." and is about driving through the hillside and I found that my eyes tended to skim over them. The repetition is fine, but I found I needed at least 1-2 more verses to tell me more about the story... maybe what happened at the cottage. Why you're asking your friends - do they still keep in touch? That kind of thing...
